History

Over 20 years of supporting the community

The brigade was formed by a handful of neighbouring farmers after a series of fires swept the valley in the early 1970s. What started as an informal roster is now a fully-equipped volunteer unit.

  • 2000a group of dedicated members from the Wanneroo Central Bush Fire Brigade began exploring the possibility of forming a Fire Support Brigade.
  • 2003The first official meeting of the Wanneroo Fire Support Brigade took place in April 2003. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in our history. Our founding team consisted of a Captain, Lieutenant and Secretary, who together laid the foundation for our Brigade’s future growth and success.
  • 2025On the 1st of July, 2025, we changed our name to North Coastal Bush Fire Brigade Wanneroo
